Terms of Use

Last updated 20 August 2026

chahua.us is a private family website. These terms govern its use.

  1. Acceptance

By using this site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

  2. Purpose of the site

This site describes how our household releases identity documents and provides a means of verifying a document reference number. It exists for the benefit of our family and of the organizations we deal with.

  3. This is not legal advice

The statutes summarized on this site are described in plain language for general information. Those summaries are not legal advice, are not a complete statement of the law, and must not be relied on as a substitute for advice from a qualified attorney about your own circumstances. Where a summary and the actual text of a statute differ, the statute governs.

  4. Verification records

A verification record confirms that a document bearing a given reference number was issued to a named recipient on a given date under stated conditions. It is not a copy of the underlying document and does not itself prove the contents of that document. Absence of a record does not by itself prove that a document is forged; it may equally mean the number was mistyped or the record has not yet been added. If you believe you hold a document of ours that does not verify, write to family@chahua.us before drawing conclusions.

  5. Acceptable use

Do not use this site to attempt to gain unauthorized access to any system, to submit reference numbers in bulk or by automated means, to scrape or mirror the site, to interfere with its availability, or for any unlawful purpose. Automated enumeration of reference numbers is expressly prohibited and is logged.

  6. No warranty

This site is provided as is and as available, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or continuously available.

  7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of this site or from your inability to use it.

  8. Links

Any link from this site to another website is provided for convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.

  9. Changes

We may amend these terms at any time. The version published here is the version in force.

  10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. The exclusive venue for any dispute is the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California.

  11. Severability

If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full force.
